Cassandra Dmon: Cassandra looked at the description, the drawing of the item she was to craft. This one was going to be a major challenge. The dragons alone, the detail, this certainly wouldn't be an overnight project. Even the Cassandra Dmon: shape of the blade was going to be a real challenge. She had to admit, the design, if she could get it right, would be gorgeous. Something she could be proud of being the initial crafter of, regardless of whatever Cassandra Dmon: work might be added later by another.Cassandra Dmon: She gathered her tools and materials and began the slow painstaking chore of creating a detailed mold. Of course the finer details would have to be put in later, but she wanted this to be as much of a one solid piece Cassandra Dmon: work as she could, though the ax head itself would be a second piece. She sat down and began the first of several nights with the sharpest metal working tools, files, chisels, etc. that she had. Dulling them often and
Cassandra Dmon: stopping to resharpen, the two halves of the mold side by side to get the length exact, the mirror images of back front and sides, it all had to be perfect.Cassandra Dmon: It was three long all niters of work, and 5 halves of the mold discarded before she was happy with the two remaining halves. The two halves fit together seamlessly and were strapped together tightly, winding the Cassandra Dmon: toughest leather around it from top to bottom and standing the rectangular block mold upright before deciding the next night would be best for casting, after starting fresh.Cassandra Dmon: The casting was the easy part, once she got the ores and the carbon mix correct in the smelting pot of the forge. Liquid metal that had to scooped and poured quickly into the opening at the top of the mold. Timing Cassandra Dmon: it so that when the mold was open, the metal she cast was neither too warm and hence too malleable, or too cold and would be difficult to remove. She sighed a huge sigh of relief as the first attempt was successful, Cassandra Dmon: the idea of having to start with a new mold, from scratch, was not a thing she wished to do.Cassandra Dmon: Before beginning on the fine detail of the ax handle, she heated the top of the handle. Once at a working temperature she had one of her servants that she had called just for this one chore to hold the handle so that Cassandra Dmon: with a wedge and hammer she could widen and make a thin cut out hole the blade would later be slid though, then tamped down and very carefully hammer welded into place.Cassandra Dmon: Two days followed filing the rough edges down on the handle. Heating it, taking special metal awls, styluses and the like to literally draw out the dragons that faced forward, right and left on the handle. At Cassandra Dmon: times using a magnifying glass on a stand over the piece to bring out the detail of the scales, the expression of the faces, the eyes. She remembered the tale of a craftsman that worked in wood on things as detailed Cassandra Dmon: and tiny as she was working on. How years of straining his eyes had let to early blindness, or so the story went. She was very thankful that being kindred and the powers of regeneration she had, that would neverCassandra Dmon: occur to her.Cassandra Dmon: Finally she was satisfied with the shape and detail of the entire handle. It was time to wait another night, rest, and then begin the work of the blade itself.Cassandra Dmon: A simpler basic open face mold this time was used for the basic shape of the blade. The raw molten steel cooing before it was lifted out, then a second larger one was also poured. Like a sword, the smaller would Cassandra Dmon: be the core, the larger would be the jacket, thence the long work of heating and hammering the two together so that the two pieces became one, then the more detailed shape was put in somehow managing to master Cassandra Dmon: the curls and curves with her hammer and very little work with file and a set of clippers that could, at certain temperatures, cut away parts of the steel.. The blade itself, the shape, was an all night task. Again Cassandra Dmon: she took a break and fell into an exhausted rest before starting anew the next eve.Cassandra Dmon: Fixing the blade to the handle was the easiest part of the whole project it seemed. Punching two tiny rivet holes in blade and handle were the wedge had made enough room to slip the blade into place. The rivets Cassandra Dmon: would never be noticed unless one really looked hard. It held it all in place while the metals were heated again and a small hammer for precision work brought into play to hammer weld the blade to and within the Cassandra Dmon: handle, without messing up the dragons tail that curled thought that area. Cassandra had never felt such relief as the final heating and quenching took place on the ax. Making sure to scribe with the styles the Cassandra Dmon: smithy rune for strength before setting the entire now one piece item aside for the evening.

CyanaMerc1: ::Pulling open the double doors Cy greeted the whoosh of hot air that had escaped the forge.Stepping inside she pulled the doors closed behind her, turning to make her way towards the work board to discover she had won the lottery. Grinning from ear to ear cy reached out to pull the work order down, quickly reading what would be required.A shift in glance was given to the wrapped bundle that held the axe. Picking up the bundle with one hand she pushed the work order into her vest pocket heading towards her work table.Once there, Cy set the bundle down, leaned over to find her tool box, lifting it up to set upon the work table. Her attention went back to the bundle, carefully unrolling it.Sea green hues widen at the breathtaking weapon. Cy arm reached over to the toolbox, fingers snapping open the latch opening the lid, then removed her stylus which she set up to add more runes to the axe.

Picking up the axe she pinched it carefully closed to hold in place while she etched in the runes. The craftsmanship of the dragons was exquisite.Clearly understanding the amount of long hours it had required to craft. Sea green hues noticed the first rune of strength.Setting her stylus directly underneath the first rune,cy etched in the second rune " Durability"CyanaMerc1 rolled 1 36-sided die: 19
A success. Raising up her stylus, fingers twisted off the tip, exchanging for fitting a angled edge tip in its place. This was then set beneath the second rune. Each line etched was precise. The third rune that cy etched was " Sharp Edge "

A success the +1 weapon was now a +3. Releasing the axe from the vice,Cy reached for a soft cloth to polish and clean the axe.Upon finishing, the axe nearly glowed.Rolling it into a soft leather hide, she carried it to the outbox as work order completed:

“Bird, come here. I need you to see thisSomething like this was rare enough that he wanted to show it to his familiar, to instruct him in the myriad possibilities of magic. As the construct alighted on his shoulder, he held the choker up for its inspection. “Behold one of the true wonders of magic. Whatever spells were contained within this item have unraveled since their inception. But it doesn’t matter. It still works! Confidence and faith allow the item to function despite no conceivable mechanism for doing so. Much like the placebo effect, except for the results are real and tangible. I don’t even know what it was supposed to do, but it still dissipates my magic. When you get a moment, study Chaos Magic. I think that would be the best fit for what I’m about to do. Dismissing the Corax to go about its business, he acquired a small, sharp-tipped stylus. Finding an unobtrusive expan se, he began scratching the eight-arrowed star of chaos. Representing that all directions were equally possible from any starting point, it signified a system founded in the belief that the next moment doesn’t necessarily flow logically from the previous. Combined with the belief-power already expressed in the choker, the Chaos Star should mitigate attacks beyond any reasonable measure of success. Reality would shift, to accommodate the existence that the bearer invokes through the power of their confidence in its ability. Gathering a small handful of powdered red gold, he inlaid the scratch marks, nearly erasing them into the surrounding hue. A thin stream of power set the granules into a smooth finish, the only indication being the slightly metallic sheen when the light hit the spot just right. The item would only reveal its augmentation through careful inspection.A slight inward smile, as he contemplated what another mage might have done when presented with this peculiar puzzle. There was a reason that he could oft times command the respect that he did. Even by his own biased standards, this was a phenomenal magical manipulation, empowering an item to shift the world around it through the user’s unconscious belief that it would succeed. A self-fulfilling prophesy. Repackaging the item in the box it had been delivered in, he sent it back to the Magic Shop, a scrawled note in the bottom simply reading “Done”.

She was on combination 666, oh the irony, when Alisandra ran in. She was chasing Fritz, who was chasing a bumble bee. The evil bee landed on Eve's nose… and Fritz dove in to "save" her, which knocked her on her back. Pollen went everywhere, and dooooom followed: Alisandra Sneezed. The glass of the green house shattered. Plants, animals, bottles, bowls, and vials of oil flew in every direction, and who knows where her notebook ended up. She blinked a couple times, bleeding a wee bit from the glass. Alisandra was just standing there with her 'I didn't do' face. She sighed, standing slowly to brush herself off. Then, she heard a 'creeeeeeaaaaak,' which made her cringe and brace for impact. But, it was only a big gob of oil that fell on her head. A bright golden glow burned brightly before fading away, leaving Eve standing there all healed and new. Heck, she even had fresh breath! Well, she summoned a bottle and quickly bottled the rest the oil that was dripping down on her. She used a drop on a near by walrus, and Shazam! The walrus was healed without any side effects… well, except for the fresh breath. But like anyone would complain about that! She labeled the bottle, and sent it out to the Healing Department for approval. She took a sample of the oil off herself, and tested it with a special spell, which would reveal the exact mixture off all the herbs, just incase she needed to make it again! Then, she began to clean up the mess. Alisandra helped, of course, until she sneezed again. Sigh!
